Jason DiSalvo sported Nixon's old AMA plate number, 9, for the 2012 Daytona 200... DiSalvo's assigned AMA plate number is 40, but he was allowed to use plate number 9 for just this race, the season opener.
DiSalvo had a
thrilling finish, making up a deficit of 26seconds over the course of 25 laps to take second place a bike length behind Joey Pascarella on the Project 1 Atlanta Yamaha R6. See the finish and hear DiSalvo reminisce about the race in the video embedded below.
